It happened at 8 this morning so it's quite likely there would be cars etc travelling on the road. I have been watching it on Breakfast, it looks awful I fear some poor souls may not have made it to work this morning.
Now they say it could have been freezing fog that may have caused a failure in the helicopter. However it happened it is a tragedy and we can only hope the toll is not as bad as initial pictures suggest.
i have long worried that this would happen, London is a massively built up city, and we hear helicopters going over our homes all the time. Mostly they are the police, and sometime news broadcasters, add into the mix many very tall buildings are going up, like the shard, I wonder that this hasn't happened before.
I went on a helicopter flight over London last year and it was great. But this one was apparently flying in cloud/mist of some sort and didn't see the top of the crane, which was protruding above the building (as they do). I guess buildings are marked on maps but cranes are not. I think this was somewhere near the heliport.
