...got an offer at the weekend? That would be moi! And for £3,500 less than the asking price, which I accepted. I'm quite pleased with that, but someone at work said I should have hung out for more. It's not an expensive house - less than £200,000. What do you think?

Given the current state of the housing market, I'd say any offer @ asking price ovno has to be taken seriously, and if your decision is to accept, then congratulations. Welcome back, lardy :-)

It depends on how much you were realistically hoping to get, which is always less than it's on the market for. Also, how desperate you are to sell. But the important thing is that you seem really pleased, so that shows that you did the right thing!

As a percentage, £3,500 is only 1.75% of £200,000. Can't complain at that. If it was something like 10% off, you might have cause for regrets.
