I think he did. Any armchair detectives out there who would like to add their thoughts?

then or later.
He or the person claiming to be him , 'rebuked them for not accepting him' on trust. 'He spent hours trying to persuade them'.
Even allowing for any injuries he made have had , this person was able to walk and talk without any trouble, yet no one recognised him or even his voice. Which in itself is important because the voice is a prime method of identification.
If he did survive the crucifixion he was not ever seen again as the Jesus they all knew.

I couldn't get this until I once saw a news item and there was some old Palestinian woman who's son was shot and killed.
She was hysterical - she truly believed she'd seen him in the flesh.
When people are upset they can convince themselves of all sorts of strange things.
No outsider saw him in the flesh - the closest thing to a doubter was one of his own disciples.
You want to proclaim the news to the world that death is conquered and following you means eternal life - you appear again on the mount of Olives and ascend in front of the crowd before the Romans can grab you.
You don't skulk about with your mates

No, Jesus did not survive the crucifixion, and the evidence is convincing.
For a start, he was crucified by the Romans, one of the most efficient and ruthless killing machines the world has ever seen. To allow a condemned man to live, would have meant the person responsible being crucified himself. A great management technique to ensure a quality service.
They must have been Tories.

I have never understood why this bloke Jesus managed to rise from the dead and but then proceeded to bugger off upstairs to Heaven, as soon as he could, never to be seen again.
I would have thought he could made much more of an impact touring around the Known World, showing off the holes in his feet and hands. He would have filled every venue, with queues around the block.
Every media organisation would have crawled over broken glass just to get an interview with him.
"Man rose from the dead...read all about it ! "
Max Clifford would murder for a client like that !
My goodness, he could have been the basis for a world-wide cult following
if he really tried !

seekeerz, I don’t know what you mean about my previous thread, but moving on to this one, the best indication we have that Jesus survived is that we know dead men don’t walk and talk. Looking at just a couple of the other clues, death by crucifixion is a slow process – it usually takes days – but even to the astonishment of Pilate, this man ‘died’ in just a few hours. Furthermore, dead bodies don’t bleed. His, allegedly, did.
Peter Pedant, there is no eye witness testimony. His disciples ran away and the women watched from a distance which means they would have heard very little – and bearing in mind the darkness that was supposed to have descended, they wouldn’t have seen much either.
The Romans saw Jesus as a troublemaker - that's why he was sentenced to death - and the Easter story, one of politics and intrigue, is shrouded (no pun intended) in contradictions and mystery. However, it does strike me as rather curious that people are unwilling to consider the rational – which is there if you look - but positively eager to believe the highly unlikely – or dare I say impossible?
Anne, //i was not there, but i know a man who was !!!!!!!!!!! //
No you don't. If you're Christian and you're talking about Jesus, he wouldn't recognise you or your religion. Christianity hadn't been invented in his day. He was never anything but a Jew.
