Car Double Registration

Hi,

My girlfriend and I bought a car together and originally used her name for registration. When we broke up, we agreed to change the registration to my name and she gave me the signed V5C.
However, before I send the V5C (I didn't send it immediately which was my fault though) to DVLA, I noticed that she already changed the registration name to her other friend (probably use V62 form etc).
The car & all keys are possessed by me.

Given the circumstances, what can I do?
In fact, it looks my ex made illegal act by selling (change the registration) the car to different 2 parties at the same time, didn't he?

I would appreciate if anybody can suggest any advice, especially for my ex's legality.

Thank you.

Richard

Honestly I would send it in and see what happens.

The important thing is to get the car in your name
I dont think there are many people wanting to be the registered keeper.

face forward - take a deep breath and say - my ex is my ex - thank God !
The registered keeper is not necessarily the legal owner. I suggest you send off the V5c to DVLA. One question, how did you " notice that she already changed the reg to her other friend?" If she had done that the new V5c wouldn't have been sent back to you or her.

Hi Euroanchor,

Regarding your question of how did you " notice that she already changed the reg to her other friend?", I tried to SORN the car but couldn't do via online and called to DVLA then found that the registration had been changed into someone who are different from my ex & I (DVLA can't inform the name to me though).
