Another Three

A local fire department got a call that a flock of geese had become stuck in a frozen lake.

A rescue team crawled out onto the ice, pushing a boat and ice-breaking tools. They got within three yards --and the flock flew off!

The men were left staring at open water.

Someone at the station asked, "How did it go?"

The reply was, "Wild goose chase."


After a lengthy delay for plane repairs, the passengers were becoming impatient but stopped complaining when the pilot told them:

"Why don't you look at it this way? Wouldn't you rather be down here wishing you were up there than up there wishing you were down here?"


A man looked at the menu at the airport restaurant, and saw that the food was named for planes.

"I'll have a 'jumbo jet burger,” he said.

When the order arrived, he was disappointed to see how small his burger was, but he ate it anyway.

He called his waiter over. "Was that the 'jumbo jet?'" he asked.

"Yes," the waiter answered. "Went pretty fast, didn't it?"
