Beware of opting for broadband from BT. My mother, who is in her 91st year, is no longer able to use her computer. I rang British Telecom to cancel the service and was expecting a charge as the annual contract runs to the end of June.
However there is an additional charge of £30 imposed when you no longer require a broadband service. This fact is never advertised and is grossly unfair to a pensioner

Informtion here...Did you give any reason for ending the contract? Maybe if you'd said your mother was old and no longer well enough to use her computer they wouldn't have charged you

that's awful but does not surprise me, my late hubby was reg blind and able to use their Directory Enquiries for free which was much appreciated but not used much, within 5 mins of changing to Tesco for broadband and phone this service had been withdrawn.
So Dee you expected to keep this free service from BT even though you'd changed suppliers?
