We were a well known entertainment venue last night .paid good money to get in .every thing fine but as the night went on the drink was being consumed by others we don't drink .Anyway this youngish fella Mid twenties came along and started talking to us .He had had his fill of drink .Talked jibberish but myself not wanting to be rude just listened but the as he had two glasses in his hand he spilt the drink of whiskey or some sort of spirit and a glass of beer over me .It was quite an expensive jacket .and new trousers .As the guy was drunk I did not want to make a scene and there was not any staff around .We just went home there and then .i was not a happy bunny and still am not and wondering if I should have a wee word with the venue .what do you think and how should I goo about it .

Unless it was a member of staff I don't think there would be anything the venue could do unless by very generous good will, especially as you did not notify the venue at the time when they could have removed him, at least from your vicinity.
If someone was spilling drinks on me and I was wearing something expensive I would had moved away as politely as I could and become rather less polite if they didn't keep away from me. Always a good idea to keep a bit of distance from very drunk people holding drinks.

Why can't you just get your clothes cleaned, weecalf? This is by no means an unusual situation. If you didn't comment to management at the time that a drunk had thrown drinks all over your clothing, there's nothing that can be done. The venue hasn't been negligent, and how much their customers spend on drink is nothing to do with it. There would have been staff behind the bar, surely?
