So for the first time in ages, David Cameron has decided to start mentioning the Big Society again:

http:// www.blo omberg. com/new s/2014- 04-09/c ameron- speaks- of-chri stian-f aith-as -day-en ds-with -hymn.h tml
He also added some rather stupid comments about the Big Society being the work of Christ and another kind of BS about how Christians are the most persecuted religion in the world:
“It is the case that Christians are now the most persecuted religion around the world,” Cameron said. “We should stand up against persecution of Christians and other faith groups wherever and whenever we can.”
Is this really an appropriate thing for the PM to be saying?
Dave also appears to be educating his offspring in the vacuous and loathesome form of politics he stands for. Are we doomed to another generation of Camerons? :P

Both are meaningless and have to be explained in order to be understood, which relies on the user to make up whatever meaning fits his purpose. We are all in it together was another piece of nonsense.
Ignore all this verbiage and rely instead on actions, not words.

the "big society" seems to be about people helping themselves and each other and not requiring the government to do it all. It's essentially anti-socialist, and perhaps a sign that the Tories are moving away from the principles underlying (say) the NHS.
But lots of ABers seem okay with that. Lots of Americans are too, since they are much more suspicious of government than Brits are.

And a word from . . . . . .

Correct. Big society has always been code for 'small state'. Fair enough, that's either good or bad depending on your politics.
However, to bring Jesus into it is just ridiculous.
