so I decently moved to a new state, new city, about 10 months away from getting my bachelors. However I need an extra job to hold me over, what are everyone's thoughts on waitressing at a strip club? Do you or have you known anyone that has done it? Is it too trashy? Would you look down on someone if you knew that was where they worked?
I don't think there is anything to be ashamed of if you are working to pay your bills. As long as what you are doing is legal and you have no problem with it, don't worry what others think.
if you work, support yourself, pay taxes etc etc, then no-one should look down on you for your choice of job, unless you're a giant working in a circus perhaps then.....
i worked in a bar with topless servers, that was fun.
Forget the waitressing: go for the position of a bartender and then you get the fringe benefit of earning the letters BSc...Bartender in a strip club:)
My friend did this and the pay wasn't too good but she got some really good tips which was more then her wage.
Rule number one is make sure you have a thick skin and if you don't grow one quickly as you can expect typical male comments like the posts at 14:38&14:41 few posts back but 100% more slimy, more lewd and suggestive as well as possibly being touched, groped and my friend got picked up my a drunk guy who attempted to carry her and ended up falling onto a table and my friends 2 front teeth got smashed out and it's not only the seedy dives but the classier joints too as when some men get drunk whilst watching women strip it sometimes releases their inner creepy leering oddball who for some reason think women are just there to please them and they can "own" anyone they like so just be aware of your surroundings especially when going home, try and drive or get a lift or even taxi home in case you get followed.
