Nicola Sturgeon Gets A Hard Time On The Daily Show
28 Answers
I was pleased Nicola Sturgeon got a hard time on the Daily Show by John Stewart, she quickly evaded the question of oil and has been on a 4 day tax jolly at taxpayers expense. What do abs think of this farce?

scots second renaissance - I see jno has got there first
The reason is that under an ordinance of James something III I think,
all the parishes had to have a dominie and a parish cow for the kids
O a dominie is a primary skool teacher. - and James III is 1500 or thereabouts and the upshot is that the scots were the best educated in the world for two hundred years. Even the shepherds could commonly read.
Renaissance ( the first one ) was stronger in Scotland than England all bound up in the Kings divorce 1536
The British Empire was largely run by the Scots ( see above about skoolz)
and now what are the Scots exporting ? why ....... Nicola Sturgeon ( yaaaay ! )

Usual dim Mail trash, especially the comments under the link-piece. Ms Sturgeon certainly gave as good as she got. Why do so few people seem capable of grasping the plain fact that small countries are perfectly capable of existing independently and doing well without having access to any oil? Cameron, by comparison, would certainly have been slaughtered by Stewart.

You slate the Mail then write something of pure conjecture like that ?
I think Sturgeon is doing well, right on track for another referendum and this time for Independence.
The one thing I do agree with Quiz on is that a small country can manage perfectly well on its own and without oil. The problem the Scots will have is that to make their country attractive to foreign investment they will need to loose the left wing mantra and accept a small period of adjustment.
They also need to come to terms with no GBP and no Euro (or EU). But I see that as a benefit to them personally.

Really janbee?
I think Sturgeon care more about Scotland than many other Politicians think about the country they rule.
She is certainly not making the Scots a laughing stock, if anything she is raising the profile of Scotland.
If only Cameron would put the English first. (We have no separate assembly yet so he is it for us)

YMB, not really "pure conjecture". Just the other day, we saw how he had to backtrack rapidly when everyone...well, apart from him...actually heard him say that his ministers would not have a free approach to the upcoming EU referendum.
When he's at PMQs and allowed just to shout people down with no attempt to actually answer their questions...he calls it 'debating'!...he may impress his dafter believers, but in a quick-fire interrogation like Stewart's, it's clear that he'd have no such chance.

McMerkel is just a silly wee lassie and is h**l bent on destroying Scotland and making us laughing stocks. SNP = Nazi !
Nazi?....mmmmmm
Well she seems to be under the impression that the Scots are some sort of master-race that invented everything.
I believe there will be a neverendum until the Scots people get what she wants.

So I trust you will be voting "No" in the EU referendum then, QM. Or do the Scots only want to leave the United Kingdom but not the EU?
