The Cardinals were having a meeting in the bowels of the Vatican,
One mentioned decorations, but the Pope said "Oh not that again."

"Please try and pay attention to our architectural essence,
it was fully refurbished last time, during the Renaissance."

"That was an affy lang time ago and it needs done again with feeling,
Have you seen the affy state o' thon Sistine chapel ceiling?"

A bitter argument the ensued then they decided to all go,
to the chapel and inspect the work of Michael Angelo.

None of them could agree on what course they should take,
One of them even suggested Michael Angelo was a fake!

Well then, it all kicked off and some harsh words were said.
Someone even suggested demolishing Bernini's colonnade!

After a while things settled down and peace was then restored,
Meantime the Pontiff had gone to bed as he was really bored,

Those that were left decided the Pope wasn't really missed,
So they got out the communion wine and a'body got ***.!
