Trump Vs. Streep
A couple of things here.
First - is Meryl Streep over-rated?
Second - does it concern you that the next President of the United States of America has a skin so thick that he feels that he needs to defend himself in this manner?
Are we now walking towards a time when the leader of the free world has the sensibilities of a 13 year old school child?
Why is he doing this?
Seriously...I know there are some on here revere Trump in the same way that they revere Katie Hopkins, Jeremy Clarkson and Tyson Fury - as being paragons as straight talking, but what on earth is he doing responding to this kind of criticism?

I think Bazile has got the essence of this. If a Hollywood icon wants to make a veiled reference to bad behaviour, they can. If you are President Elect, and you want to respond by denigrating her proven and awarded acting skills- you can't, for two reasons. One is that you are proving yourself an idiot by attacking her proven track record in her job, and two...

// Streep bloody rocks. She's not over-rated at all. //
agreed. but she's an actress. she gets paid to pretend to be someone else. she's rather good at it, but that doesn't necessarily qualify her to make political pronouncements, any more than Bono being a high profile musician qualifies him to click his fingers in time with an (alleged) African child death rate.

She was calling out Trump for the time that she pretended to be a spastic, waving his arms about mumbling, in order to take the mickey out of a disabled reporter.

He is the President Elect.
I saw it at the time...
It's actually quite stunning.
Seriously - it's actually groundbreaking.

IMHO Steep is over rated but regardless of that why do luvvies think they are better than the rest of us just because they can pretend to be something else?
And yes, I think it is good The Donald has called her out; it is exactly why he won. The luvvies have for too long abused their fame to influence others.

He is not showing the required statesmanship that is required of the leader of the world's super power .
Hopefully his advisers will have a word with him on how to act , when he takes over the reins .
It's ok speaking your mind when you are running your companies and you can say what you want to your employees and others
Surely , he must realise that the job of the commander in chief requires a whole different way of going about things

i'll have to take your word for that - youtube is blocked by the works server. but doesn't it say loads for society if it is indeed stunning? if it was so appalling, why has no-one screamed it from on high, before an actress uses her acceptance speech to draw everyone's attention to it?
