Is there something wrong with being single that I don't know about??? After ending a 14 year marriage, 2 years back, I have been very happily single, choosing not to date but simply enjoying my own company. Why does every one keep telling me it's about time I found myself a man and to get back on the dating scene? I'm 37 years old and I do not find it a requisite in my life to wake up in the morning with a man lying next to me - am I abnormal, or is it just a new and very fashionable trend that I am setting?!

Nope Bunny, I quite agree with you. Happily single and enjoy having my own space.

As my beloved Grandma put it - you only need a man for sex and functions. The rest of the time they just get under your feet!

pitstopbunny, if being single at the present time suits you, then thats what you must do, it takes allsorts to make this world tick, I'm married, but I have friends who are single, married, or just living together. Good luck to you, enjoy yourself.

Thanks guys - I was beginning to feel like a freak of nature - I love being single & plan on staying that way!!!
Nobody has been single as long as I have, pit, and I am absolutely fine with my own company!

There's nothing wrong with you pitstopbunny, it's the people who think life isn't worth living unless your with someone who've got a problem!

Since all my friends have coupled up and are getting married all they seem to do is try to find me a man or tell me that they need to find me someone. It's like they feel sorry for me and don't believe me when I say I'm quite happy on my own!

Scarlett, I challange you on the statement that nobody has been single as long as you!

7 Years and enjoying the quiet life

I am about to end a 30 year marriage and would never ever want the resposibility of being married or seriously committed to one person again. It would be nice to have a companion but I would like to be able to do things by myself for myself if I so choose.

Indian!!!

Challenge accepted!

If I am wrong then at least it will give me hope!

When I mean single, I mean no dates, no snogs, no dalliances, no physical contact.

Who would like to start the bidding??

Ok, here goes *takes a deep breath* 2 years give or take a few weeks.

There. Now your turn.
