Victory for the women who race?

I can't see this going away anytime soon so how will this end up, one race for everyone or a separate race for those classed in between?

This case in particular is a very difficult one: hard on Semenya who probably feels the goalposts have been moved just to thwart her, but there are plainly issues generally that need addressing.
Perhaps they should consider separate events for Blacks and Whites, since it is often shown that Black Athletes are much more superior in certain events.
Difficult. I have sympathy with Caster who simply wishes to compete as they are, but I've also sympathy for those with normal female hormones who want sport to be fair on them also. Whatever was decided would disadvantage someone.

Maybe all sports should be handicapped sports. After all it's unfair that those who have trained and got fit & good, compete against those who wish to try unenhanced as nature intended ;-)
Yeah, lets go back to the days of segregation by colour. Brilliant.
Perhaps AOG should be segregated away from sensible people.
AOG is always value for money here :-)
the system is correct as it is, if you have a Y chromosome you compete with men otherwise you compete with women. Why is that so difficult?
Not PC, ttt...
Not quite that simple, Tora. Klinefelter syndrome.
I'm really quite surprised by this decision.

She is a woman with a naturally occurring higher testosterone level than what is considered normal - that is not her fault. To suggest she can only compete if she takes drugs to reduce her naturally occurring testosterone seems unfair and wrong to me.

This decision has been made to "to ensure fair competition for females". I won't point out the irony that Dr 'Rachel' McKinnon is allowed to compete against women.
There does seem to need to be more research and sense used for intersex people. A female embryo cannot physically form testes in any way.

So a person is not sensible just because they admit that Black Athletes are superior in certain sport events?

Take the London Marathon for instance?
Everyone knows black athletes are superior at some things. The only person who thinks anyone has to 'admit' this is you, AOG.

It's your suggestion that there are segregated races which we find rather distasteful.
"Not quite that simple, Tora. Klinefelter syndrome. " - very simple, they have a Y chromosome.....
AOG's ability to shoehorn race into a thread about gender is pretty typical - and probably best ignored in case it sends the discussion off down a path that was not intended.

Well it is obvious that you yourself don't consider yourself sensible, if you did you would segregate me yourself, by not joining in my threads.

It's only Kenya that seems to do well, and that is only of late AOG.

Perhaps not the best example?
Doesn't quite work, AOG, as I was referring to a future action, but a nice try. A for effort!
deskdiary; "To suggest she can only compete if she takes drugs to reduce her naturally occurring testosterone seems unfair and wrong to me. " - I agree he should not have to alter the natural body levels of testosterone etc, why not simply compete with the men then?
I won't even pretend to understand the chromosome bit...so can it be dumbed down for me? Does she have a fanny and a womb? If she does, then surely by any objective measure she must be a female? Or am I completely barking up the wrong tree?
