Where you are?
(The great English obsession)
Been Blackpool today. Don't think that I have ever driven in such 'wet' conditions. Driving up the M6 from Stoke, couldn't hardly see where I was going. Slowed down to 40 mph for some of it, absolutely torrential (plus spray I suppose). Cleared up on arrival for a couple of hours then slashed down for the rest of the day. Im still drying my clothes out...
(Checked the weather forecast before leaving home for Blackpool...said that there were showers in the morning, brightening up in the afternoon! Yeah right...)
Yesterday I drove through monsoon conditions for 100 miles on motorways from Surrey to Christchurch Dorset. Worst part was the sun breaking through every so often between heavy showers causing severe glare off the road surface.
Today it's been hot and sunny all day in Christchurch up until an hour ago.Torrential rain bouncing off the the conservatory roof. My wife will be leaving Notts at about 2200hrs and driving herself here to join me.The Gods aren't with us with regard to driving conditions.
After all we are in Autumn. What else do we expect? :-)
//The Gods aren't with us with regard to driving conditions//
Think they were with me today Retro...managed to get there and back without once scraping my minibus ;-)
(Not like scraping my works van last week in fine driving conditions...)
Live in between Stoke and Blackpool, J24 M6 and it hammered it down all morning. Forecast was rain all day but it did dry up this afternoon, contradicting the rain all day which was forecast.
There were certainly flash floods at Fleet Services yesterday and it wasn't me to blame. Am on diuretics and got caught short, I don't normally stop on this journey but where needs must. When I came out I waded back to the car up to my ankles. God . That Bumenide does the trick. :-) It wasn't that long ago the services burnt to the ground. What next...............Plague?
So it was quite nice this morning although windy. Grey from about 3pm and absolutely chucking it down non-stop since 5. Dorchester area. We've had to shut the conservatory door because the rain is too noisy.
Absolutely beautiful sunny day here in Dundee (unlike the past two days of rain). It has been quite warm but started to cool down about 5 and cold tonight.
If you meant the work van Tills
Had a Harvest pick up from a school in Biddulph. Reversed side on to school gates when they were automatically triggered to open. Couldn't get out of the way fast enough and scraped down the side of the (less than a year old) van.
Had the mick taken out of me since...Going into work is so much fun now :-)
