I have to say, of all the birds that pay me a visit to my garden are jays.
Today a group of three came in and appeared to be eating something on the grass areas (not worms)though and too early for ants.
Only one seemed to have the blue wing flash's.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Oak is the dominant tree in the large expanse of ancient woodland, adjacent to my garden but I'm sure it wasn't acorns they were after, as its too early for them as yet. I've also ruled out acorns that they had earlier buried, as I was near enough to see if it was them but far enough away to see anything smaller that they was foraging for.
Perhaps I'll never know but it was interesting to watch them for a few minutes and I do apreciate your suggestions. Thanks.
