How To Make A Homemade Mask For Germs Query?

Hi i cannot get a mask anywhere to wear because of the virus to go shopping. Does anybody know how to make a homemade mask please out of material etc ? Thanks.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I've seen various videos on the net re it, but even commercial ones aren't supposed to be a great help, lord only knows how effective the home made ones prove. And it may give a false sense of security. I think it's probably more use as virtue signalling your intent to society more than anything else. IMO follow the distance separation and the hand washing advice, try not to fret about not having a mask.
The video the WHO put out on masks is a little confusing. It says that you don’t need to wear a mask if you are healthy, because there is no evidence that they protect people, but then says that you should wear one if you enter a room with a person who has the virus, which implies they do. (It could mean that they don’t want you to pass anything else on to the person who is sick, though I think it would have been made clearer if that were the case.) The problem for most people is that when you enter say a supermarket or some form of public transport, you don’t know whether or not you are entering a space with someone who has the virus, therefore many assume they might be. The bit about using a mask properly is important and from what I have seen not fully understood – most people here in Girona wear a mask in the supermarket but I see quite a few adjusting theirs with a full hand on the front of it. I don’t have any masks, which is why I was looking at how to make one, but I am happy to see everyone else in one.
