I have a lovely garden parasol where you pull the umbrella into position using a pulley and rope inside the canopy and then lock the intalllation in place by inserting a brass metal thing through the pre drilled holes in the pole. does anyone know what this is called and where i could buy a replacement for the one i have lost? i can insert a screwdriver into the hole -it does the job but doesn't look very elegant
Thanks in advance

Pin, i'm sure thats what its called. I use a long thin bolt, its about 6 inches long and very thin, I just went to B&Q and looked in their nuts and screws section, had a delve round and found one, it does the job.

Thanks!
pleased i am not the only one to have lost it
not much use for a parasol today!
Luckily my pin is on a short legnth of chain and attached to the pole, otherwise I would probably have lost mine too.
Try googling parasol spare parts.
An extra long split pin will do the job and you can chain/tether it as well to secure it from loss.
