As the title says. How far back do we have to go to for apologies for things our ancestors did?
I mean can we demand that York and Yorkshire change their name as permanent reminders of the ravages of various Scandinavians? I can think of other people from whom we could demand an apology too.

will Macron apologise to us Brits for his mob firing an arrow that killed our beloved Harold II......and I want an apology from Mme Caviar in her Edinburgh palace for invading my land of heritage, Cumbria - and when it came to the Isle of Man, also part of my heritage, an apology from anybody called Campbell, whose ancestors came of R&R trips to the hallowed island and that wasn't rest and relaxation - and that includes the Campbell's soup company - reparations are now in order.
