I have a bog standard cctv that offers great images and sound which can be viewed in real time on my tv(its an oldie but goldie, not smart). i have also inherited a Humax recorder model number FVP-4000T. Is there any way to connect these two devices in order to record images from around my home directly onto the Humax drive?
Thanks

Sorry, the answer to your question has to be 'No'.

Unlike almost all old VHS video recorders (and your TV set), the Humax FVP-4000T only has output connectors on it; there's no way of feeding an external signal into it in order to record the images contained within that signal.
With respect instead of trying to cobble together a working device buy a new one that does all you need as they are relatively cheap and you get to choose the features / connections you need.
