my dad used to put a pounds worth in back in the early seventies when you'd get 3 gallons for that, the problem was that over the years he'd get less and less but still put a pounds worth in, even up to the 90s!
Yes TTT we're all creatures of habit. Used to put £20 in at a time but now tend to fill right up. Don't do many miles these days so it lasts a long time. However, have been told that a full tank adds weight to the car and you'll get less mpg. Just can't win.
Took me a while to convince OH that carrying a full tank around was uneconomical. I recall coming home from putting petrol in and crying because I hadn't got 3 gallons (about 13.5 litres) for a £.
As long as folk like TORATORATORA are willing to pay those stupid prices, the fuel companies might be able to charge lower prices elsewhere and make their profits still.
