Chap down the pub said he wasn't worried about the rise in the price of petrol as
he only put in 20 quid's worth at a time.

my dad used to put a pounds worth in back in the early seventies when you'd get 3 gallons for that, the problem was that over the years he'd get less and less but still put a pounds worth in, even up to the 90s!
he once had one of those jags with 2 tanks, he'd put 50p in each tank!

Yes TTT we're all creatures of habit. Used to put £20 in at a time but now tend to fill right up. Don't do many miles these days so it lasts a long time. However, have been told that a full tank adds weight to the car and you'll get less mpg. Just can't win.
I use the premium stuff only now, I get 7mpg more so it actually works out cheaper and it's better for the car.
Took me a while to convince OH that carrying a full tank around was uneconomical. I recall coming home from putting petrol in and crying because I hadn't got 3 gallons (about 13.5 litres) for a £.
just stuck 50 sovs worth in the Jag! £1.80 a litre!
The RAC reckons that as of yesterday, the average price of premium unleaded pettol
was 169.9p/l.
Stuck 70 odd quid in the Beemer the other day, wife stuck similar in the Jag yesterday. It is what it is.

Oddly this joke was cracked by SunnyDave on the price of petrol thread in Motoring the other day.
perhaps it'll get the poor people off the kermit, every cloud!
It will soon take him no time to put £20 worth in.
As long as folk like TORATORATORA are willing to pay those stupid prices, the fuel companies might be able to charge lower prices elsewhere and make their profits still.
