Job Interview

After years working as a railway porter, Tom gets an interview for the post of assistant signalman. At the interview he is told that there are two trains heading straight for each other at 100MPH what does he do next?

"Id change the points and run them on to different tracks" he replies knowledgeably.

"The cables broken" counters the interview chair

Tom thinks, "then I'd change the points manually at the side of the track"

"Stuck". says the chairman.

"OK" says Tom. "I would have to run up the track and stop one of the trains"

The chairman grins and says, "not enough time"

"Well I only have one option left" Replies Tom. "I'd go home and get my brother Joe.

The chair is curious and asks if his brother Joe is a railway expert?

"No says Tom he's never seen a train crash before."
