""If they give me less I'll be homeless as it's going to be a choice of feed the kids or pay the rent," said mum-of-seven Zoe Bridges.

The 29-year-old from Derby is already struggling to make ends meet and was visiting the city's Hope Centre food bank for the first time.

"It's a bit of a nightmare, I've come for essentials like bread and treats for the kids… the government just keep cutting everything. It is what it is," she said."

"Ben Crowe, 30, started receiving Universal Credit after he was made redundant from his warehouse job. He's been using the food bank for the last few months."

How about stop having kids, get the father/s to look after them and Ben can get a job, plenty out there.

7 kids at 29?.
Blimey?
I agree Webbo, get the fathers to tip up
//"If they give me less I'll be homeless as it's going to be a choice of feed the kids or pay the rent," said mum-of-seven Zoe Bridges.//

Why did she have 7 kids when she clearly can't afford to keep them?
What like is the job market in Ben's area?
ok - maybe it's one father who died on a trawler - but hey...
I agree that there should be support for maybe 3 kids....but 7 if you can't afford them seems wrong, why should the taxpayer pay for that. But its not the kids faults and should they starve- no. Its a problem that noones sure how to tackle and anyone who does try will be accused of letting children starve
Anyone unemployed with 7 kids will be getting a BUNDLE in benefits. I think this is fake news.
What bundle of benefits and amounts will she be in receipt of?
The poor kids can’t help
having a feckless slapper of a mother, and of course the fathers (no doubt there will be numerous fathers) won’t be able to help because it’s more likely than not they’ll be welching off society as well.

These people are parasites.
fathers probably do contribute (and have conjugal visits) but it's kept off the record so that the mum can claim full dibs
Bizarrely, if Canary’s absurd call to arms is anything to go by, some people are more concerned that money has been given to the rich. Somebody earning a million a year will be paying £400k instead of £450k (in round numbers before the pedants jump on me). I always find it astonishing that people want the rich to be taxed as much as possible.
Deskdiary; who are the parasites, the parents or the kids?
DD, what is Zoe Bridges' employment history?

I hate the expression “money given to the rich” or variations thereof.

All that’s happened is that they’re being allowed to keep more of their money. This seems fair to me.
Given she’s spent most of her time on her back, I suspect very little unless you know better TCL.
She says: "I can believe they're cutting it again (UC). They're not.
She also says: "The government keep cutting everything". Not true.
I suppose suggesting she eats one of the kids would be considered a tad harsh, nowadays.
Always Sky, isn't it. Broadcasting all these made up, sub CNN tales of woe.

Australian Sky are brilliant. Is it not the same company.
DD, you're the one who seems to think he knows all about her.

Perhaps you're just jumping to conclusions?
The parents Atheist.

But I suspect it will be monkey see monkey do, so the kids may see living on handouts as a normal way to live and do the same.

I’ve no doubt Zoe is incensed that the Government have “given to the rich”, without any sense of irony, or gratitude, that they, and every other taxpayer, donates money to allow Zoe to live such a feckless life.

I have sympathy for the children, I have none for her - she’s created the problems she faces.
