Old John's Garden

Old John was fond of his garden. Each year when the best garden in the village competition came round, he won! Neighbours remarked on how nice it was and many walked past just to see it.
One day, as he was working in the garden, the Parish Priest came by, and stopped to admire the display.
"Your garden is just beautiful John" said the clergyman.
"Aye" replied John, "And so it should be, considering the time and work I've put into it!"
"You and the Good Lord John", said the priest, "You and the Good Lord!"
"Maybe so Father", John replied, "But you should have seen the state it was in when He was doing it by himself!"
