Love poem

I need to write a love poem for my wife.I was going to steal one off the interent but I daren't incase she sees the original but I am a terrible poet! She calls me David as a nickname and I call her my green duck but her real name is Maria.Any suggestions for a love poem that is personalised? Go on I bet you are good poets just give it a try.

I think that might be a bit direct, but it does get your feelings across rather welll in an earthy, to the point sort of way, alternatively you might want to try the scribes website, they write poems etc for not muchmoney and they are personal to you.

He he funny but I think she wants it to be a bit more ROMANTIC.I have to write her a poem because she wrote me a wondeful one and then she asked me to write one for her.Also I am not romantic enough and I want to show her how much I love her.

I got stuck with the duck rhyme too!! This is not an original but with some flowers or chocs would do for me!

I'm sure she'll appreciate any effort. If you want to write a rhyming poem what I always do first is list key words to do with what I'm writing about e.g. green duck, David, wife, love and then look at what rhymes with them that is also appropriate. Once I get the first couple of lines it tends to flow from there. It's hard to help without knowing more about you both.

Like noxlumos says there are Internet sites that will do one for you, for a price or maybe you can find a site giving you some advice. Her favourite flowers would also be good to give her at the same time as the poem (wouldn't advise you get them from the garage if you want to stay in her good books lol)

My hubby wrote me a lovely love poem a few months back, I know he wrote it from his heart and not copied from the net or from someone else's mouth, as he feels he isn't romantic enough to be able to do it, but he gave it ago and I treasure it more knowing he wrote it on his own. Maybe you should give it ago. I wouldn't like it if my hubby had asked someone what to write, kinda defeats the object.
Doesn't necessarily have to be a poem, how about you just write how you feel? Love letter instead of love poem :o)
