Safe or unsafe times

You start taking the pill on the second day of your period (and it's the first time you've taken the pill), your period stops at the end of day three, you sleep with someone on day five/six.....are the chances greater at that particular time of the month, than any other time,of getting pregnant or is it a fairly safe time of the month? Thanks

If combined pill taken from 1st day or period it is thought to cover immediately. If started at any other time then it is advised to take other precautions for 7 days.

The mini pill is taken every day without a break. The combined pill is taken with a break of 7 days. The mini pill is progesterone only, the combined is oestrogen & progesterone.
I believe the mini pill has to be taken at exactly the same time every day (I was on it while breastfeeding as you can't take the combined pill then. I believe the mini pill is slightly less effective than the combined..but only slightly.

heehee dear me, everyone is getting all worked up! my doctor and most sites state that the pill can be taken any day of the period up to day 3/4 to give immediate protection. it CAN be started at any other time but it is advisable to wait 7 days until it is fully working. some people even wait until taking a full packet before they stop using other protection. but as you say you are, then i'd say you have nothing to worry about. as long as you dont miss any pills, its all good :)
