Hi I alwas use orange juice or apple juice to make my fruit salad. cut up the fruit and put into the juice, keeping the fruit under the liquid.Other than that you can make a sugar syrup by boiling water and sugar together, let get cold and than put the fruit in that.Keep in fridge.
Just put orange juice in it or make a syrup.
Lemon juice when you cut the frut, especially apples, will prevent them going brown.
juice of a lemon, 1 table spoon of sugar or artificial sweetener, and about half a pint of water. no need to heat it, the sugar or sweetener dissolve by the time you finish making the fruit salad. i make the liquid first, and chop all the fruit directly into it, and the lemon juice in it stops the fruit going brown. easy peasy.
For a really special occasion we pour Ciontreau over our fruit salad. If you include lovely sweet oranges in your fruit salad they compliment the Ciontreau beautifully.
Try using tinned pineapple in natural juice. Much nicer than anything too sweet.
If you are trying to be healthy, diet lemonade works

Depending on colour of Fruit salad ie Winter Fruits that are usually red or Summer Fruits predominately light a few slurps of either Red/White sparkling wine(whichever suits best) makes a tasty syrup aswell with added sugar and prevents light fruits from browning.
