Writing a proposal

Hello all!

I'm writing a proposal in my Media class. Basically it's to try and promote a film we're making. Anyway I have to write a proper proposal tomorrow for class but I'm not sure what to include? hat do I need to cover?

I'd suggest you cover the 5 Ws

Why, Who, What, Where and When.

Why you are promoting the film. Who you expect to convince to see the film, What you'll do to achieve this. Where and when will you do this.

From here you can break it down into who you approach. Just school members or the general public.

How you will advertise, posters, leaflets etc.

Length of campaign, budget etc.

Who also includes the division of labour. Which of your classmates is the best artist to do the artwork, who's the best schmoozer to get your posters up in local shops etc.

The target market your trying to attract.
Focus on other FREE types of media, youtube, myspace etc.
General marketing stuff, leaflets, posters etc
Cooperation from media instatutes, ie British film commission etc.

Wow! I'm sitting here on answerbank, dipping into YouTube, and MySpace, checking my emails, watching virals and totally forgetting the new media in PR/Advertising, I'm obviously still old in the head at some fundamental level !
