Fancy Dress???
16 Answers
Can anyone tell me if I am in the minority here. I (occasionally, like today) get invited to fancy dress parties.
As soon as I see this on the invite I immediately have to come up with an excuse; I cannot think of anything worse.
I know what you are gonna say , "Where's your sense of humour" , "oh, just go and enjoy it, it will be a laugh" etc etc but I am sorry I fail to see the joy in it and leading up to the big night would fill me with a sickening dread.

Sophie they may just suit some people and not others. Personally, I come across very confident but am really quite shy - it took me till I went to uni to get over it and try not to be so shy. I am no social retard or anything and am bubbly and chatty but I think that any direct focus on me ie stage, karaoke, fancy dress fills me with a kind of stage - fright.

When younger I used to hate fancy dress parties aswell, but now I love them! My favourite outfit is a punk outfit (I've got it stored away in case I get invited to any more fancy dress parties!). One of the cleverest 'costumes' I saw though was someone dressed in ordinary clothes wearing a Blue Peter badge - they were a Blue Peter presenter!
