Driving License
Im 21,been driving for a year and a half.Iv already got 3 points for speeding that i got in april. Was doing 35 in a 30 zone in Blackpool.Last night after work my back lights wouldnt work or my speedometre light.I had one fog light working.I couldnt see what speed i was doing so had to ruffly guess and was speeding. The police stopped me for my back lights not working and for speeding,my average speed was 80 along the motorway. They said i will get 3 points and a 60 fine.which means il have to get my license taken off me.I told them that i was getting my lights fixed first thing in the morning and there was no cars in front me so i couldnt get a ruff guess of what my speed was. Also i work 20 miles away and without my license i would lose my job as store manager as id have no other transport for the hours i work. Also im a few grand in debt and i need my job.they said they will pass this on to the DVLA and they will decide.Im worried sick :(

You should not have gone on the motorway at all. You should have either left the car at work and found another way to get home, or called a breakdown service.
You will be reverted to learner status, you will have to take your theory test, display L Plates and drive only with a supervising passenger until you pass your driving test again.
Sorry, but that's the way it is.

Hopefully they will remove you from the road ASAP.
So you had one fog light, no back lights and no dashboard lights. Was ANYTHING working?
I'm sorry but I could guess at my speed and do way less than 80mph, anyone who couldn't read their speedo and who knew their lights weren't working properly would have deliberately have driven slowly, not at 80mph on a motorway.

Ethel is quite right.
If you get another three points the DVLA will revoke your full licence and you will revert to provisional status. There is no appeal against this action and your personal circumstances will not be considered.
You will be able to drive again as soon as you apply for and are issued with a new provisional licence, but you must adhere to the provisional restrictions (be accompanied by a qualified driver, display 'L' plates, no motorway driving, etc.).
You will have to take your test again (both parts) and the six points will remain on your licence. You cannot have it revoked in this way a second time, but a further six points, if they are accrued within three years of the first, will result in a minimum disqualification of six months. (This will be an entire disqualification, not reversion to provisonal status).

So you realise your lights are not properly working at night, your dashboard lights not working properly and you decide to drive? That is like saying you decided to drive without a speedo full stop! 3 points and lost of your licence is least of your worries. Your car sounds like it would not pass an MOT and therfor should be crushed! Speeding is your fault, nobody elses fault! simple
