Forgotten poem
4 Answers
I am trying to remember a poem which I thought was by Auden or MacNeice, but having searched I am now not so sure. All I can remember are a few lines: "when from heaven we wend our way" or something similar, and, er, that's about it really. It has an almost biblical feel, Genesis-like (the book not the band), to do with the Garden of Eden and creation if my memory serves me correctly. Probably too much to ask, but maybe someone can help!

Thanks for your help - I have it now! I remebered a bit more which meant I could find it on google. It was MacNeice after all - this is the right quotation:
For the last blossom is the first blossom
And the first blossom is the best blossom
And when from Eden we take our way
The morning after is the first day.
Lovely poem. Thanks again.
