My God- complaints because she's missing half an arm? That's disgusting!
I've noticed that one of the comments said that the parent thought their precious offspring might get scared- not that they actually were.
Mini Boo watches CBeebies and we've both seen this presenter, who's appropriately cheery and really quite sweet. Mini Boo hasn't noticed her arm and I have to say I didn't pay much attention to it either.
I hope the people who've made such horrible comments are now ashamed of themselves.

no mercy, it is nothing to do with compassion and consideration, the point being that some children are frightened by the sight of a deformed TV childrens show presenter.
It us a fact, which i can understand, some children are scared of the dark, snakes , height etc.
The trick is how do you deal with it?

sachs, you may be right, but if a child is scared of something e.g disfigurement, it may have nothing to do with it's upbringing. After explanations re. nature etc. etc the child still may answer...."yes, I understand, but I am still scared"
The other point is, that I did wonder why she had a long sleeved cardigan which she "rolled up" to expose the "stump"
Brave girl yes, compassion etc accepted, but the bottom line is that it has frightened some children.

Hi squad,
I can see your point of view. I think there is a lot that can be done though to educate a child from an early age to avoid ignorance, just takes a bit more effort from parents. Plenty of books out there aimed at all age groups about death/ disability/ divorce ect... Take the 'fear' away & educate the child!
