I belong to a self help group and we wish to raffle a book to raise funds, we have groups all over scotland and it would be differcult to get everyone together, so would it be legal to send raffle tickets out to all the groups by post?

Assuming the law on this subject is the same in Scotland as it is in England, then the answer is yes.

I assume your raffle tickets have been properly printed with the promoters details etc on them?
Don't you require a licence? In England and Wales you do, with a few exemptions, of which I don't think this is one.

thank you for your responses, we dont have the money to have specially made tickets, we would make these up on the computor, we would not be selling tickets to anyone outside our fellowship and we have a management commitee to make sure everything is above board.
We are only concerned about the legality off sending tickets through the post.

Sending them through the post is not the problem - it's whether the raffle is legal in the first place. I don't think it is, but am not 100% sure.
