best opticians?
5 Answers
i wear contacs and wear glasses , but am getting fed up basically of being fobbed offbeing told my lenses are fine when theyy bloody hurt when i put them in, im not sure if im allowed to name who i am with at the moment but i pay about 16.00 a month for a months worth of weekly lenses.
I am seriosult considering changing to a different company because of it, do you just go in and say youve had a better offer elsewhere?
Also i went on a website where they had diffferent packages such as 15.00 was standard and elite was 30..00
if this was the case i wouldnt begrudge paying extra if it meant my eyes felt better whilst wearing the lenses, im also fed up of being told that it might be because i dont clean the lenses properly! I do, i make sure of that..
Anyway any help or advice would be much appreciated

most comfortable and cheapest too.
You can get a comfort version of most makes, but most optician branded ones (eg Specsavers own brand, Boots own brand) are a branded one in a different box. I know the daily disposables that I have got from Boots and Vision Express are both Focus Dailies.
So my advice would be to ask about the comfort version of whatever you are using, or change opticians

Carlton23 - to use the term S/S meaning specsavers shows me that you work in the optical industry and probably for dolland & aitchison. Which also means that you should know that whichever practitioner saw this person does not work in all of specsavers practices. I am pretty sure specsavers is a franchise business model in which they work to a point similarly by providing the same products but each has their owner who will have their own ethics and business intentions.
I also know that d&a is no longer as they have been bought by boots.
As an independent practitioner my costs are more than that of the bigger 'stores' and therefore my prices are too. However, I maintain my business by keeping the high levels of service that people are willing to pay for.
Incidentally, daysoft do not have, as far as I am aware, numerous different types of lenses to replace the hundreds of branded ones available. They have one type of daily disposable to replace them all. They will not assess the health of your eyes or check that these lenses are suited for you but expect you to do this yourself.
