NOT Into The West

Had and Irish teacher during sixth form and in our last class with him he showed us his favourite film about a group of young men who got a horse... I remember it was stolen by 'travellers' (sorry if un-pc?) and they also visit a brothel... these are the few scenes I remember. He said it was a cult Irish film but I have scoured the net so maybe it is not that well known. It is definately not 'Into The West' any help would be much appriciated...

Are you sure it was horses. It sounds like maybe Man About Dog, but that's with greyhounds.
