University campuses 'a hotbed of Muslim extremism',
Certain Mosques 'a hotbed of Muslim extremism',
Muslim extremists allowed to openly preach hate on the streets of Britain,
Will it have to take another murderous Islamic attack on the streets of Britain, before the 'powers that be' learn to sit up and take notice of what some Muslims are planning to implement, obviously unheeded?

Not sure it is the Universities' job to police homeland security. If there is proof any crimes are being committed, the Police or secret services should act. The Universities provide education services. They cannot monitor what students do when they are not in lessons. Students have always been radicalised, it is part of growing up. They tend to grow out of it. Peter Mandelson was a Communist at Uni.
I suspect the same parliamentary committees who are worrying about this now, are the same ones who were worrying about Communist cells in Universities 30 years ago. Not that we should not be vigalent, but there is a lot for idealistic Muslims to get cross about. If that means they organise a protest outside the Israeli Embassy, well that is legal and legitimate in a democracy. If they plan an illegal action, then that is different. This report does not seem to offer any evidence that illegal acts are planned or undertaken by foreign University students, only that there is potential for it to occur.
The academic quoted in the article, Anthony Glees, is a well-known mouthpiece for the notion that campuses are breeding grounds for terrorism of various kinds, not just Islamist. But he has never presented any compelling evidence for this, seemingly other than some people arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (and who therefore weren't necessarily terrorists) went to university. But he is a readily available and convenient rent-a-mouth for articles like this.
The phrase "it has been claimed" handily sweeps up everything contained in the article and without any actual details of this report, and what the "damning evidence" is, the "it has been claimed" is all we have to go on. If the evidence is damning, the authorities would be acting on it.
The link to overseas income is specious; yes this is income generation for universities but there is absolutely no evidence they are turning a blind eye to terrorist-breeding. And anyway, it's not as though HEIs only ever recruit from Islamic countries, and even Glees's claims relate to various forms of terrorism including animal rights, which wouldn't be affected by overseas recruitment. As usual, the focus falls on Muslims in order to stoke the flames of DM outrage, and job done judging by the predictable spittle-flecked comments below the article. And yay! We even got a "mickey mouse degrees" mention - 10 points on the cliché meter!

What is strange (and sad) is that when the second world war started all people of German (our enemies) blood were rounded up and put into camps to ensure they could not do any damage from within..
Now our "enemies" are allowed to come here, live on OUR benefits, and then stand on the street preaching to others what an awful country it is and waging war.
Once we had teeth, now we are a lapdog.
