I am just wandering...

Clearly i spend too long on Answerbank as I have noticed how many posts, mainly from new posters, end with the sentence "I am/was just wandering....". A quick check using the AB search box confirmed this.

So I was just wondering why so many people spell 'wondering' incorrectly. I can understand the common mis-spelling of LOSE as LOOSE but not WONDER and WANDER. (On reading some of the posts, though, it did occur to me that some of them seemed very similar in style so I wondered if some are due to someone posting under different names.)

I know this is often due to my Dyslexia as I simply don't understand punctuation but I live with it, I think most people understand what I'm blabbing on about.
if you want people to write, you need to let them express themselves as they normally speak, within reasonable limits. OK, I was just, I wonder etc are all polite verbal tics that ordinary people use to attract the listener's attention.
Wonder / wander, loose / lose are all commonly mixed up. Previous generations would have written like, I say, excuse me etc.
I expect there are quite a few people on AB with mutliple identities, but this is what underemployment and simple technology has done to our society.

I agree, mosaic- I know that when I ask questions on here I often use the expression " I was just wondering...". My main point was that I was surprised by how often 'wandering' was used instead of 'wondering'. As a teacher I notice a lot of common mis-spellings ('alot' instead of 'a lot', 'loose' instead of 'lose', 'of' instead of 'have', 'after' instead of 'have to') but I hadn't noticed wander/wonder until I came on AB.
