Speeding waiting for a response

I was caught speeding on the motorway about a month ago by a police car who used the equipment when its the bridge to bridge calculation.
Their gave me a verbal NIP at the time so i think that gives them the 6months to send me a court summons. Do peoples experiences on here say that they take the whole 6months to send this paperwork, as after a month passing by now im just wandering how long it takes to do as i know ive done wrong and want to start my punishment!
Just want some advice please , not i should wait and see cause i shouldnt be speeding anyways, i know i done wrong just wandering if this is the normal time scale. Thanks

if you were not given a ticket at the time of the incident,then you have nothing to worry about.

ok thaks for the answer, but im confused :o) sorry , he sorry the policeman gave me a "verbal" NIP at the time, saying this is sufficent and that they would send me a court summons and had up to 6 months to do so. would this still be the case then, they didnt give me any paperwork or anything at all?

well,iv never heard of that before,if you get stopped by the police for a violation,they are supposed to give you a paper nip.or fixed penalty notice,i might be wrong,but im sure thats the rules.its different if its a camera,but being stopped im sure you have to be given some sort of paperwork,did you show any docs to them.

thanks for this btw, i got pulled over for my speeding, i got in their car they went through the normal speech what im doin etc where i live he asked for some ID, i had me photocard licience, he spoke about the device they had (the bridge to bridge speedo) showed me what i was doin as per the speedo on it, which i was fine about,(during the conversation he had said my rear lights were an obstruction as i had modified them and i would have to get them chanegd within 14days), then he checked my ID and filled out a slip for the lights, he may hav used my ID Just for this slip ? for me to get my garage to stamp it and post it to them within 14days, he gave me this slip (which was just for the lights) and my licience back and said about i should expect the paperwork etc as i mentioned previously for the speeding.
i had nothing but a "verbal" NIP from the officer for the speeding part so im as unsure as u sound, what u think ?

What speed were you were doing.If it was greatly in excess of the limit the police cannot issue a fixed penalty instead you will receive a summons to appear in court.As they have already given you a verbal NIP maybe this is the action they are taking

I was doin 101mph on the motorway (and i accept whatever punishment i get for those who r gonna type things like that!) i had a verbal NIP when they stopped me but i didnt get any paperwork for this and was just told it would be up to 6 months, is this how it works then? and do they take like 2,3, 4 months to contact you if anyones knows?

In view of your speed I would say that you will receive a summons in due course.You dont get any paperwork from the police officer except producer etc.

Be repared for a hefty fine and probably a period of disqualification

yeah i thought that , but i didnt receive any paperwork at all from them not even producer ?

very strange,but if you do get the court hearing,you will get banned,because its over 100 mph.

You need to ignore what has been said about a paper NIP. The NIP can be given verbally at the time or in writing within 14 days. It is unusual, but not unknown, for the police to forget the matter of producing your documents. Action will almost certainly be taken for speeding. It must be commenced within 6 months and will almost certainly lead to disqualification. It would be unusual to receive the summons in a month. Two months may be closer to reality, but you cannot relax until the 6 months have passed.

Regardless of what Norman has said over 100 on a motorway is not an automatic disqualification.

The guidance for magistrates in the BenchBook for excess speed of 31-40 mph in a 60-70 mph speed limit is a Category B fine and either 6 poinits *or* 56 days disqualification .

A category B fine represents about 1 weeks take home pay after deductions.

Had a mate who was doing the same as you ,101 on a dual carriage way.He has just been banned for 7 weeks and was given a �450 fine.It took him 2 months to receive his summons.

just to say i didnt recive and communications about it so thanks to the lovely officers that night or whoeer made a boo boo getting me out of it, tell u summut though i wont be speeding on the motorway again!!!!
