Good morning all,

Is there an official government site for deed poll enquiries - googling brings up so many I wonder which ones are dodgy.

Cheers for your help.

I did mine through an on line site really easy
http://www.thelegaldeedpollservice.org.uk
cost less than £40 with 10 legal copies and letter templates to send out with them

Thank you
There is no official site or government department that deals with name changes, if you wish to change your name you simply start using the new one provided you do not intend to deceive or defraud another person.
You will probably not be able to change your birth certificate and some organisations may require evidence of the name change in which case if you are over 18 years old the easiest way is probably by deed pole which is a formal statement that your name has been changed
