This probably isn't the right section for this question, but I can't really think where else to post it! I heard the term "Bobby Dazzler" used the other day in the same sentence as cocaine, and I wondered what it meant? My brother reckons it's actually another word for ecstacy, but someone else reckons it's crack. Any ideas?

Its something new or smart looking. i.e. Tom got his new shiny red bicycle. It was a bobby dazzler

these kind of words can mean anything you want, depends the "lingo" of your group of friends.

In the clubbing scene where i come from a bobby dazzler would be a line of cocaine...

these are some examples

like special K is talked about as a cereal but really means Ketimin (excuse the spelling)

Mandy is talked about as a chick, but means MDMA..a powder/crystal form of pure ecstasy....

My granddad has always called me a bobby dazzler.  He tells me it means pretty, something nice to look at.  Anyway that's what I believe as I would cry if I thought my granddad thought I looked like crack! :)

Thanks Sam82 - that'll be what was meant. I knew it was coke in some form or other they were talking about, I just wasn't sure what.

Sorry to confuse things even more but where I come from 'Bobby Dazzlers' are rocks of crack.

Flippin' 'eck! I've always been really anti-drugs, yet everyone I get involved with lately seems to be taking coke. The reason I really asked this question was because my latest bloke asked if I wanted a "Bobby Dazzler" while him and his mate were phoning around, trying to get hold of some coke. I said no, and I was a little shocked cos in his line of work, he could be in so much trouble for doing drugs. But I guess I just wondered if he was just snorting the stuff or doing crack. And I'm still none the wiser!! I suppose I should just ask him, but I'm a little uncomfortable with the whole thing.

my granpa also calls his grand children bobby dazzlers... my granpa would die if he knew wot my mates called it...

ljo i would just ask him straight!!! better to be upfront so u know wot the score is...

I imagine anyone called Charlie would feel the same.

The phrase, as heavily used by Mr Orange himself, David Dickinson, and the titke of his book, had it's original meaning as 'an amazing thing or person'.
