So...............what are all you ABers doing to celebrate the great Bard's birthday on the 25th? Haggis, neeps & tatties all round. A wee drappie to wet yer whistle? A few lines of "To a Haggis"? Come on folks, use your imagination!

Burns Night Ball on Saturday. BF is flying over, to come with me. I have our kilts ready. I LOVE Burns Night x x x
Yep, OH being from North of the Border, it's all set up.
^ and yes, OH has his kilt, but I'm not entitled to one - or if I am, it's a Irish tartan.
are you wearing anything under yours, JJ?

Not that I really want to know or anything, I am just making polite Scots conversation.
There's nothing worn under jj's kilt. Everything's in full working order.
I'm not entitled to one either, but we have Campbell of Argyle. I liked it.

If I wear nothing under my kilt, it will be a secret between me, the BF, and te hotel lift.

:0)

He will certainly NOT be allowed to wear anything.
Oh, parkdale ... I so wish I had thought of that response. X
Bowl of porridge and bottle of Scotch
well please don't attempt tossing the caber in the lift.
My great grandmother was a McQueen, a member of the MacDonald clan, and Robbie Burns is also said to feature in our family line somewhere but it was, in my great aunt's words, 'the wrong side of the blanket,' so it was rarely mentioned.
I told my wife on one occasion, I was going to wear a kilt to a wedding and she told me if I did, she would disown me. I hadn't the legs for it.
What's good enough for Mel Gibson is good enough for me.
I will mainly be listening to Ken Bruces' version of 'Donald, Where's Your Troosers ?' whilst sipping a Glenffiddich !
I imagine I won't be celebrating it!
Girls don't wear kilts.

I am hosting a burns dinner on Saturday for10.
Aah, actually red, someone did mention recently that my "kilt" was actually just a tartan skirt.
Wear a kilt with no knickers
I'll be going to a Canadian bar owned by an Italian; order some English beer which will be served by an Irish bartender, and watch some American football on a Japanese TV. In order to inject some Scotchisness into the situation I'll nae tip the wee coleen a bleedin' penny:)
As an English person with no connection to Scotland whatsoever (and a deep hatred for poetry) I will not be celebrating it.
I have a function to do at a hotel friday....lots of quality scots included, getting hammered and enjoying themselves I hope. :)
daffy ... I'm not sure that Burns really counts as "poetry"

He invents half the words just to make it rhyme, lol.
Is that stewey or stewed?
