I have a load of lovely nasturtiums but they are getting small holes in the leaves, could be caterpillers, but I have lots of white butterflies that always go to the leaves,I love watching them as well as the bees that are constantly in the flowers. But am wondering,do butterflies eat the leaves, hence the holes? They are not cabbage butterflies, smaller with two black dots on each wing.,sort of grey down the spine and on tips of wings.
Also when the bees have been at the flowers does the flower die?
Can anyone also recommend a good ant-insect spray.
The Butterflies sound like Small Whites by your description.
Bees pollinate the plant, so I suppose technically the flower does die, but in reality it turns into a seed pod.
