With the game now closed , I can now reveal the pre-chosen links and who scored what.

'The Lady Radley' (aka Handbag lady) covered many topics in her preamble and even dropped a few hints amongst them - along with a red herring.

She directly mentioned the NORTH sea but that would been too blatant a give-away. Maybe NORTH went with another link instead?

And then she was very BEAMish in a later paragraph.

Then why was that last paragraph all about IRONs and IRONing?

As for the red herring: maybe you thought two new moons in a month was a 'Blue Moon'? Actually it is two 'full moons that make a blue moon so sorry, no points for that one.

Here then is what 'The Lady Radley' was hoping you'd choose.

SEA URCHIN
MOON BEAM
ANGLE IRON
NORTH WIND

So how did everyone manage?

All four links had many possibilities so the scores were inevitably on the low side.
(Note to self: Have a word with 'TLR' regarding making it easier to score next weekend.)

Roslyn251254 was first out of the Shrubbery Gate and immediately claimed SEA URCHIN and NORTH WIND for herself and 4 points.

Three minutes later, Boxtops claimed the other two links of MOON BEAM and ANGLE IRON, again for 4 points.

A little later, Elspeth collected singles for each of 'Sea Urchin' and 'Moon Beam'.

The remaining scorers with single points were: baza, cliffyg, Magyar, Onty (Mrs O) and x-ray.

With such low scores (just 15 points awarded) it was incredible that we had THREE double-hitters (and 5 singles).
I am therefore going to break with tradition and declare all three as HOTSHOTS for such a difficult achievement.

Finally we have the following mames on our (very short) Leaderboard:

2 cliffyg, deecee131, Elspeth, kawakiri, middlestump, rockfordill, SHAZZA-Hewat & ulysses100
1 baza, CHRIS-Hewat, jobjockey, Magyar, Onty (Mrs O), seekeerz &x-ray

Congratulations to all the point scorers so far - you have succeeded where many have valiantly failed (so far).
Don't worry though, there are still two weeks to run for the January game and anything could happen.

Before I go: Does anyone know Handbaglady's favourite tipple? Or maybe some juicy bit of information that could be used as a lever?

Come back next Saturday to see if it has been successful.
So be there:-
Same time (9am)
Same place (Q&P)
Happy Linking

Thank you. I am rubbish at this! I don't have any info, but a Radley or Mulberry might work as bribery.
Congratulations to all the point scorers. x Nil points for me. Must try harder!
Well done to the point scorers, nil for me again

I thought this might do the trick but unfortunately, it is a bit more 'scottie' than 'rottie'.

Ditto Psybbo - time to put our thinking caps back on.
Oh dear nothing for me either, but thanks Lady Radley and gen2
That'll do, gen. Could i have the one on the left please?
Sorry points were few and far between. I'm partial to Baileys or Jack Daniels on the rocks.
Well done we few points scorers. Love those bags gen2, bet they cost a bob or 2! I suppose I'll have the one on the right if that's the only one left now after pixie had first dibs!
Sorry ros. Happy to swap if you prefer? X
Grr I want the pink one
Go on then, you two. I'll have to have a mulberry then, gen, please? I'd like turquoise, but that was Autumn/winter, so you may have to order it. Many thanks xx

I posted a little sweetener for 'Her Ladyship' and in a blink of an eye they've been torn to shreds in the rush. Sadly now, all that is left is this -

I can't see a bottle of Baileys surviving for long either.

Wow! thank you, gen2 and Her Ladyship!
1 Point this week - a miracle.
1 bottle of Jack Daniels coming up if the Lady agrees to go easy on the peasants.
Congrats to those more on the Radley wavelength and to the Lady herself along with the faithful Gen2. Where would we all be without you Gen2.
