Best of luck on the day, it will be one of the most traumatic days, you may feel numb and you may feel sick and faint, i know i did, but she will be with you all the way, beside you, and looking after you as im sure she always has done.
My heart goes out to you xxxx

oh that would be wonderful, i cant belive you have offered to write a poem, how kind of you. My Nanny was a wonderful lady, she is from liverpool and still had her liverpudlian accent even after living in lincolnshire for over 50 yrs, she was a very family orientated person she loved to have everyone over and cook for us all, especially ot Christmas, everyone would go to hers every year without fail and she would put 'The Snowman' on tv, she used to hand chocholate coins from the tree for me and my cousins to eat. She enjoyed travelling and has seen many parts of the world. She had short white curly hair and a very cheeky giggle. Last year we lost my cousin very suddenly from an unknown brain tumor, she was only 12 yrs old, her name was Elizebeth and then my nanny started to go downhill from there, even though she was ill before. She enjoyed to sing and dance and used to entertain us as children and make us laugh. She was a very funny lady with a really good sense of humor, she had the whole family in tears of laughter. She was the backbone of the whole family. It doesnt seem possible that she has died, i thought she would live forever.Im sorry but i am in floods of tears right now.I would appreciate it if u could right me a poem, I hope that i have given enough information. Many thanx.... Katie xxx
I love this one: What is dying? A ship sails and I stand watching till she fades on the horizon, and someone at my side says, "she is gone" Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all, she is just as large as when I saw her....The diminished size and total loss of sight is in me, not in her, and just at the moment when someone at my side says "she is gone", there are others who are watching her coming, and other voices take up a glad shourt "Here she comes!".... and that is dying.

Katie, The poem posted before was read at my mums funeral. It was one that was in a card we received. I dont really think it matters whether you write a poem or just a few lines, as long as, like you said, it comes from your heart. You sound like a lovely girl, and Im sure your nanny was, and still is, very proud of you.
