The childhood vow of truth:

Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye.

..or the slightly different version we used as kids sometimes.........when accused of "fibbing"

orig comes from when they used to stick needles in the eyeballs of corpses to prove they were really dead & not just pretending
