I'm not a Scot...but do know that Auld lang Syne does NOT include the words "for the sake of" anywhere in the lyrics.

Did the English add them to annoy their neighbours?

@21.23.No,it certainly didnt,Ginge.However,ever i have heard people singing the song up here even in Scotland they have included the words"for the sake of"to the lyrics.Would Burns have approved?I think he would have.
