If 'to reverse' means to undo or go backwards, does 'verse' mean go forward or redo?

If I bend something, like your ear, and then bend it back, do I unbend it ?


or bend it some more ?


If I am unbending it, does that mean that I am straightening it? If I am unbending, does that mean i am rebending everything or being inflexible ?


Ruduplication - is that four times or only two ?


English is like this I am afraid....


the letters RE don't always mean that i.e, red, rent, rest, retail, regulate, etc etc
one side of a coin is the reverse. The other side is the obverse.
Verso is from the Latin for 'to turn'.

'Reverse' is synonymous with 'return' and 'revert'.
If verse did mean to go forward, then reverse would mean to go forward again.
