Mon enfant a une allergie aux noisettes

or

Mon enfant est allergique aux noisettes.
or allergie aux noix, not sure which is better. You might want to insert a 'tres serieuse' (very serious) or 'potentiellement fatale' (potentially fatal) in there somewhere.
Might help for the next trip - set of cards with allergy advice in language of choice - needs to be ordered though.

In France there are also a couple of options for the name of peanuts:
pistache de terre
arachide or grain d'arachide
cacahouette
cacaouette

Make sure any waiting staff in restaurants are aware of the ingredients too - they could easily be temp staff who don't know all the menu and its' contents. . .

Have a good break. .
Mon enfant a une allergie tres serieuse aux noix. Pouvez-vous me dire s'il y a des plats lesquels contiennent des ingredients de noix?
(My child has a very serious nut allergy. Can you tell me if there are any dishes which contain nut ingredients?)

'Noisette' is hazelnut. 'Noix' is a general term for nuts.
"Mon enfant est allergique aux arachides (noix, noisettes, cacahuetes, huiles..). Cette allergie est tres grave, et peut entrainer la mort. Est-ce que vos produits contiennent des arachides ou derives? "

Sorry, I don't know how to make the accents on a laptop.

That's what I would say. Arachides is the broad term for nuts, it includes all types of nuts (peanuts, pecan nuts, walnuts...). I'm French, btw, if that makes you feel more confdent about using my version.
Personally I wouldn't risk it or I would get something actually printed out that you can show them.
