baby shower
Hi Everyone,
Hope you're all well.
My friends are trying to arrange a 'Baby Shower' for me and want me to write a brief list of ideas on what they can get me/the baby.
I dont expect them to buy anything to pricey or big - mainly things that will come in handy once our little girl arrives!
So far redcrx has given me a good few things to add to the list - so this is what i have so far....
* Baby bouncer or rocker
*Steriliser
*Baby monitor
*Bottles
*Clothes
Any more ideas you can help me with???
Any of you had a Baby SHower yourself? Did u have a theme and turn it into a little party??? My friends want to do an 80s cocktail style theme!?! (non alcoholic cocktails btw!lol) - is this normal or are they just insane??

I've found this, a newborn checklist, maybe you can pick items off there for your friends to get you?

i meant to add to my list. Some women go for muslin squares to protect clothes from baby sick when winding baby. they can be very expensive so what i did was buy lots of cheap flannels, they soak up more and if youve got loads you havnt got to be constantly washing.
Of course, you can ask for muslins if your friends are paying :)
hey, a party is a party, just have one that youll enjoy.

My eldest managed to projectile poo all over the wall. I was dumb struck!!!!
I used terrie nappies and they came in for everything but as red says any nice soft cloth in large quantities will do. I personally did not get on with the muslin squares fount them a bit wappy. My sister got some lovely coloured terry nappies of ebay for mopping cloths (i refused to give her mine as am saving for potty training days and spilled juice.)
No body bought my mate basic stuff like moisturising cream, baby bath, cotton wool balls, baby soap, nail clippers, hair brush etc so when I asked what she wanted after baby was born she told me and was well chuffed when i returned from tesco with lots of goodies.
Dont forget a massage voucher from a local sallon (for you not baby)

Advise daddy NOT to play areoplanes with bubba after a feed..especially not if he decides to open his mouth at just the wrong moment.
You would have thought Mr P would have learned his lesson after the first kid. But oh no!
Muslin squares are brilliant. I didn't have a tumble dryer and they always came out soft after drying on the airer. I used them for mopping up, protecting clothes and for putting on the sheet to save washing the sheets of the pram all the time. They lasted years, too :o)
