My duvet/quilt is machine washable, but won't fit in my washing machine.

Take it to a launderette that has a big enough machine?
The Laundrette definately - our local one has massive machines specially for duvets.

Thanks, now these machines, are they the special ones behind the counter, or the normal ones that everybody uses?
I throw my duvet in the bath with w/machine soap powder. Jump about all over it they rinse it with the shower attachment. Shove it in a bin bag to take it outside and let it dry over the line.... beating it with a stick as it dries to unclog the feathers.
Smells really clean (fabric softner and fresh air).
Also relieves a lot of stress jumping all over it in the bath, might try grapes next and make wine, yum.

How random! Thanks for your suggestion though.
I was going to suggest the launderette but will be using the bath and jumping from now on!!!
I think that sounds great - we could start Duvet Washing Parties and combine drinking wine with laundering our duvets. Stress relief and cleanliness - what a great combination !
